ENSCONCED /2016

As a part of the Copenhagen Architecture Festival, ENSCONCED was developed together with curator Jacob Lillemose. ENSCONCED was an architectural installation and performance made specific for the Nikolaj Kunsthal entrance space. In this structure, a dweller made anonymous had ensconced himself at the entrance of the art centre where he interacted at random with the audience for ten days.

The project addresses the challenging psychological aspects of a disaster and what it means in this connection to ensconce oneself. ENSCONCED was a piece of survival architecture with a character who oscillated between being the sole survivor after a disaster and a pioneer in a new world order. The project came into being as a collaboration between the Copenhagen Architecture Festival and Nikolaj Kunsthal.

The project was supported by The Danish Art Council
